Description

This blue-and-white orchid tea set is hand-thrown from Jingdezhen kaolin clay and carefully fired at high temperature. Cobalt pigment is painted onto the pristine white porcelain body in elegant orchid patterns, with lively, flowing brushwork—each set carries its own refined Eastern charm.

Why you'll love it

• Smooth pour — The classic shape lets the gaiwan concentrate aroma and cut off the pour cleanly, making it ideal for gongfu tea brewing.

• Preserves tea aroma — The clean white porcelain body doesn't absorb flavors, fully preserving the tea's natural aroma without overpowering it.

• One-of-a-kind hand-painted detail — The orchid patterns are painted by hand by skilled artisans; the spirit of the brushwork can't be replicated by printing.

Best for

Oolong, black tea, pu-erh, and green tea. It also makes a thoughtful gift for tea lovers, housewarmings, or birthdays.

Materials & craftsmanship

• Body: Jingdezhen kaolin clay • Glaze: Natural mineral glaze, underglaze blue-and-white, lead-free • Firing: Approx. 1300°C, high-temperature firing

Care

Hand wash with warm water and let air dry. Do not use in the microwave or dishwasher, and avoid direct contact with open flame. With use, the pieces gradually develop a warm tea-stain patina—a unique charm all its own.

  • Beautiful matcha bowl

Wide enough to whisk easily. The glaze is darker than in the photos but still gorgeous.
