Description

This underglaze blue-and-white teapot is hand-thrown from Jingdezhen kaolin clay and fired at high temperature for an extended period in the kiln. As the glaze melts and cools, it forms a natural crackle pattern, complemented by hand-painted blue-and-white lotus and dragonfly motifs—each piece is one of a kind.

Why You'll Love It

• Retains aroma and heat — The thick walls keep your tea from cooling too quickly during long steeping sessions, locking in the fragrance.

• Smooth, mellow tea — Many tea lovers find that the classic crackle glaze brings out a softer, richer flavor in black and oolong teas.

• One of a kind — The crackle patterns form naturally in the kiln fire, and every hand-painted brushstroke is different—no machine printing here.

Best For

Oolong, black tea, pu-erh, and aged white tea. It also makes a thoughtful gift for tea lovers, housewarmings, or birthdays.

Materials & Craftsmanship

• Body: Jingdezhen kaolin clay

• Glaze: Natural mineral glaze, lead-free

• Firing: Approx. 1300°C, reduction atmosphere

Care

Hand wash with warm water and let air dry. Do not use in the microwave or dishwasher, and avoid direct contact with open flame. With extended use, tea stains gradually seep into the crackle lines, forming beautiful, mellow tea lines—a unique patina that develops over time.
